Dr. Daniel Koslover – Founder and CEO

Dr. Koslover is a technical leader in point-of-care diagnostics with nearly 20 years of professional experience. He brings a unique interdisciplinary background covering all elements of molecular diagnostic product design including biochemistry, sample preparation, instrumentation, and software.

While at NATDx from 2016-2020, Dr. Koslover worked with Dr. Andrew Miller and Dr. Honghua Zhang to fully develop a novel isothermal chemistry known as Archaeal Polymerase Amplification. Dr. Koslover served as the de facto head of systems, software, and instrumentation, while simultaneously innovating novel molecular assays for diseases such as Group A Strep. One of his more notable accomplishments was in developing a unique method of sample preparation that increased the sensitivity of the company’s platform technology by ten-fold. NATDx was acquired by Becton Dickinson in 2020, and Dr. Koslover continued to actively develop and support this technology at BD as a technical leader and subject matter expert through the platform’s first clinical trials.

Dr. Koslover received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University in 2014 where he used advanced single-molecule methods to study polymerases and RNA-processing enzymes. He received an M.Phil in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge in 2007 – which he attended as a Gates Cambridge Fellow – and received his B.S. in Biology from the California Institute of Technology in 2006.
